About the race
The Wakefield Hospice 10K is a charity road race held in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, organised by Wakefield Hospice to raise funds for patient care. The event is scheduled for Sunday 14 March 2027 and marks the race's 30th anniversary; entrants can choose a symbolic £30 entry option for the anniversary edition. Entry fees are listed between £22 and £30 and the event has an entry limit of 2,750 places. The course is a single, flat 10 kilometre road loop and the event is suitable for wheelchairs.
Official pacers cover target times from 40 to 75 minutes. Awards include prizes for the first three male and female finishers and age-category prizes. Finishers receive an event t-shirt for the 30th anniversary edition. Race facilities at Thornes Park race headquarters include water stations, distance markers, toilets, changing rooms, baggage storage and medical services; there are no showers.
On the day the event provides food and drink, physio support, commentary, a prize-giving and a property tent. Parking is available at nearby locations including Trinity Cathedral Academy, Penny Appeal campus in Thornes Park and Westgate Retail and Leisure Park. Transfers and refunds are restricted in the weeks before the race; transfer closing and refund deadlines are set in advance.
