Waggin' Wild 5K & Fun Run
The Waggin' Wild event at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, NC features two running events that welcome people and well-behaved dogs. The program includes a 5K and a 1-mile Fun Run, both beginning at the park's Wildlife Center and following paved Greenway paths.
Participants who register early receive a T-shirt and race bag; T-shirts are guaranteed for registrants by February 28. The 5K is chip timed by Junction 311 Endurance Sports. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall finishers for men and women, to top three finishers in each age group, and to the top three dogs that cross the finish line in the 5K.
The event includes on-site activities such as a raffle and a photo booth. Packet pickup is available at pre-race locations as well as on race day. Registration fees vary by registration period; fees are non-refundable.
Dog participation rules aim to protect safety and comfort for all attendees. Dogs must be current on vaccinations and rabies, wear an ID tag, be leashed (maximum 6 ft), and be under control. No dogs in heat or aggressive dogs are allowed. Retractable leashes are not permitted. Disposable waste bags will be provided if needed.
