Waggin' Wild 5k & Fun Run
The Waggin' Wild 5k & Fun Run takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, NC (5834 Bur-Mill Club Rd, 27410). The event includes a chip timed 5K and a one mile Fun Run, both held on the park greenway. The course begins at the Wildlife Center and the route is adjusted to head toward Old Battleground Road because the bridge north of Bur-Mil is under construction. An interactive route map and elevation map are available for the 5K.
Event features include on-site packet pickup and a separate packet pickup at Fleet Feet in Greensboro the day before the race. Early registrants receive a T-shirt and race bag while supplies last, and T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by February 23. Registration fees are non-refundable.
The event is pet friendly. Dogs must be current on shots and rabies vaccination, wear an ID tag, not be in heat, and not show aggression. Dogs must be leashed with a maximum 6 ft leash and retractable leashes are not allowed. Participants are required to pick up after their dogs; disposable bags will be provided if needed.
Prizes and awards are given to the top three overall men and women, first-place finishers in age groups, and the top three dogs across the 5K. A raffle and other post-race awards, food, and prizes are part of the event. Proceeds support spay, neuter, medical assistance, and rescue care for pets in the local program.
