Event
The Waggin' Wild 5k & Fun Run takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, NC (5834 Bur-Mill Club Rd, 27410). The event includes two race options:
- 5K
- 1 mile Fun Run
Proceeds support LPPNC programs for spay/neuter assistance, veterinary care and pet rescue efforts. Awards are planned for the top three overall finishers in both men's and women's divisions, age-group first-place finishers, and the top three dogs in the 5K. The 5K is chip timed by Junction 311 Endurance Sports.
Logistics
The course begins at the Wildlife Center in Bur-Mil Park and uses the paved Greenway. The route has been adjusted to head toward Old Battleground Road on the Greenway due to bridge construction north of Bur-Mil. The one-mile and 5K turnarounds are indicated on the event map. Early registrants receive a T-shirt and race bag; registration fees are non-refundable. Example fee tiers listed by the organizer include early and later registration amounts for both distances, and registration must be completed by February 23 to guarantee a T-shirt.
Packet pick-up is offered at local Fleet Feet stores in High Point and Greensboro in the days before the race, and day-of packet pick-up is available at the venue.
Participation rules
Dogs are welcome. Requirements include current vaccinations and rabies tag, a 6 ft maximum leash (no retractable leashes), no dogs in heat or aggressive animals, and picking up after pets; disposable bags will be provided.
