VNSHS Run for the Health of It 5K Run/Walk 2027
Registration for this event is not yet open; prior participants' materials and last year’s race results are available. The main distance is a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk on a USATF certified course through residential roads of Northport.
Amenities include a BBQ after the race sponsored by The Great Cow Harbor, live online/text/email results, free finish line photos, and the option for a personalized bib when registered at least three weeks in advance. Finish-line media and same-day video are provided by the event team.
Awards feature cash prizes for top overall finishers and masters, a dedicated nurse prize, Amazon gift cards for age-group places, and a cash prize for the largest team. Age groups span 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24 through five-year bands up to 80 and over.
Bib pickup is arranged in person on race day through event staff; participants who entered virtually receive bibs by mail within a shipping window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after. A self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number.
The certified course includes rolling hills and incorporates 1.6K of the historic Cow Harbor course. Police traffic control and volunteers support the route, and a water station is located approximately midway near the east end of Oak Street. Parking is listed at the William J.
