VNSHS Run for the Health of It 5K Run/Walk 2027
The event is a 5K (3.1 miles) USATF certified run/walk on residential roads in Northport. The course follows rolling hills and includes approximately 1.6K of the historic Cow Harbor course. Police will provide traffic control and volunteers will support the event. A water station is available approximately mid-course near the east end of Oak Street.
Amenities include live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos, free video, and a BBQ served about 45 minutes after the race starts. Registered participants who register three weeks in advance are eligible for a personalized bib. In-person bib pickup is available starting one hour before the event; participants must know their bib number or use the self lookup area. Virtual bibs are shipped with a shipping window that ranges from one week prior to one week after the event.
Awards are offered by gender and age group with the following highlights: overall top three men and women receive cash prizes of $200, $100, and $50; top masters (40+) receive $75; top nurse category receives $100; top three in age groups receive Amazon gift cards; largest team receives a $300 cash prize.
