Violet Crown Trail Fun Run
The Violet Crown Trail Fun Run is an annual, in person event organized by Hill Country Conservancy at the VCT Whirlpool Trailhead in Austin, Texas. It takes place on National Public Lands Day and runs for about two hours.
The event is untimed and family friendly. Participants of all ages and abilities may run, walk, skip, or roll along the trail. The event emphasizes community, conservation, and outdoor recreation and highlights the trail connection between neighborhoods, wooded areas, urban amenities, and parks.
After crossing the finish line, attendees can join a community celebration that features local businesses, nonprofit trail partners, and activities with opportunities to connect. Proceeds support the continued growth and stewardship of the Violet Crown Trail and Hill Country Conservancy’s mission to protect the Hill Country landscape.
Registration fees support Hill Country Conservancy and the trail. Registration includes access to the fun run and finish line party, complimentary breakfast tacos and coffee, a Fun Run T shirt, a finisher’s medal, and exclusive 2026 fun run swag.
