The Vineyard Run @ Grove takes place at Grove Vineyards & Winery in Gibsonville, North Carolina.
Distances
The event offers two distances:
- 5K race
- 1K fun run
Course Description
Both races are held across the grounds and through the vineyards. The organizer states that the 5K course for this year is flatter than a previous version, incorporating more cross-country running and fewer vine-rows. It begins with three-quarters of a mile of cross-country. The 1K course covers the flat bottom section of the vineyard.
Participant Perks
Runners registered for the 5K or 1K who are 21 or older receive a souvenir wine glass and a pour of Grove Winery wine (with ID). Non-runners aged 21+ can also register for a package that includes the glass and wine pour, but no race participation or shirt. Participants under 21 receive a discount. Quality Bella Canvas race shirts are guaranteed for registrations submitted by a specified date in April, subject to availability afterward. All finishers receive a wine stopper medal. An optional brunch catered by a local company is available. Post-race activities include live music and food trucks.
Registration
Registration is tiered, with price increases on set dates in February, March, April, and May. A discount applies for participants under 21.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5K race. The top three overall male and female finishers each receive a bottle of Grove wine. The top male and female finisher in each standard age category receive a gift card from a local business. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
