Viewpoint Endurance Challenge
The Viewpoint Endurance Challenge is a timed running event held in Whittier, North Carolina, offering 24 hour, 12 hour, 6 hour, and 3 hour formats. The course is a 1.4 mile loop composed of a 1.0 mile hard packed gravel section that connects to a 0.4 mile asphalt section. Each loop includes about 118 ft of elevation gain and 100 ft of elevation loss.
The venue provides a main conference center with bathrooms and showers that the course passes on each lap, and a main aid station and portable toilets are located on the loop. A lap keeping system is used with chip or tag timing and there is an option for participants to self record laps on a large white board. The timed event format records miles completed within the event period rather than assigning Did Not Finish results.
Canopy tents may be set up along the course in permitted areas to allow self support and crew access. On-site lodging options include hotel rooms, bunk houses, an RV park, and tent camping.
