Victoria's Race Against Child Abuse
Victoria's Race Against Child Abuse is organized by Victoria's House Child Advocacy Center, a program of Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. The event takes place in Inwood, West Virginia at 40 Excellence Way and offers two distances: a 5K road run and a 1K kids run.
Awards are presented to the first place overall participant and to the First Place Cross Country Team. Additional awards are given for first, second and third place within the age brackets 12-18, 19-35, 36-49 and 50 and over. The event also includes team spotlight awards. Participants may indicate roles such as law enforcement, first responder, prosecuting attorney, child welfare worker, guardian ad litem or mental health provider during registration.
Registration fees for the 5K follow a tiered schedule: $25 prior to July 1, $30 from July 1 through August 31 and $35 thereafter. The 1K kids run is free for children under age 10; a completed registration and signed waiver are required for participation. T shirts are limited to runners registered before August 20 and are available thereafter on a first come first served basis.
Packet pickup is available on September 18, 4:00 to 6:00 PM at 653 Winchester Ave, Martinsburg, WV, and on September 19, 6:30 to 7:45 AM at the race venue. Race day packet pickup closes at 7:45 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
