Victoria Youth Triathlon
The Victoria Youth Triathlon takes place on May 30, 2027 at the Panorama Recreation Centre on Vancouver Island. It is organized by Human Powered Racing, presented by Lumina Orthodontics, and sanctioned by Triathlon BC. The event is Race #3 in the Triathlon BC junior Super Series and is also part of the Lumina Orthodontics Greater Victoria Youth Triathlon Series.
The event offers a range of age-based triathlon distances:
- 50 m swim / 1.5 km bike / 500 m run
- 300 m swim / 9 km bike / 3 km run
The first heat of the day is a draft legal race for elite and junior categories, including U15, Junior, and U23, run as a modified mass start with a 300 m swim and a 3 km run. The swim takes place in the Panorama Recreation Centre pool. The bike course is a closed loop contained within the Panorama Recreation Centre parking lots. The run course is a loop on the grass and pathways around the recreation centre.
The Victoria Youth Triathlon is part of a three-race youth series that includes the Triathlon of Compassion (June 13, 2027) and the Cowichan Challenge (June 27, 2027). Athletes who complete all three races receive a Race Series hoodie. There is also an annual award for the school with the greatest number of participants.
