Vicksburg Run Thru History
The Vicksburg Run Thru History is the 47th annual road race held on March 7, 2026, at Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The event is presented by the Vicksburg YMCA and includes multiple distances held entirely within the park boundaries.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10K run (6.2 miles)
- 5K walk
- 1 Mile Cannonball Run
The courses run on park roads and follow the opposite direction of the park tour road. The 10K course begins near the VNMP Visitor's Center, travels along Confederate Avenue toward the Louisiana Monument, uses Pemberton and Union avenues, includes the South Loop, and returns to finish in front of the Visitor's Center. The 5K walk and the 1 Mile course also start and finish at the Visitor's Center with portions that pass the Louisiana Monument and include short out-and-back sections. USA Track & Field course certification is pending.
Packet pickup and late registration occur Friday evening at the host hotel and on race morning at the park. Race amenities include a Run Thru History shirt (first 800 guaranteed), food and beverage service including hot dogs and sports drinks, post-race live music, and awards across overall and age-group categories for the 10K and 5K and overall awards for the 1 Mile.
