Event overview
The Vicksburg Run Thru History is the 47th annual road race held at Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The event takes place each year on the first Saturday in March and includes multiple race options. Online registration fees listed on the event page include the mandatory charges; current early pricing shows approximately $44.79 for the 5K and 10K, and $23.39 for the 1 Mile Cannonball Run. Packet pickup is available Friday evening at the host hotel and on the morning of the race at the park. The host hotel and race headquarters is the Hampton Inn at 3330 Clay Street, Vicksburg.

All courses are entirely within the boundaries of the Vicksburg National Military Park and follow the opposite direction of the park tour road. Start and finish locations are near the VNMP Visitor's Center; the finish line is in front of the Visitor's Center. Chip timing will be used. USA Track & Field (USATF) course certification is pending.
Race amenities include a Run Thru History shirt for early registrants, hot dogs, fruit, water, sports drinks and beer, and live post-race music. Team awards include a trophy for the largest walking team and group trophies for the top three finishers on competitive run and walk teams. Age-group and overall awards are specified for the 10K and 5K; the 1 Mile Fun Run will award overall male and female winners and guarantee medals for the first 100 finishers.
