About the race
The 38th Over the River Run takes place on October 10, 2026, at the Old Mississippi River Bridge in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The course crosses the Old Mississippi River Bridge and finishes back in Vicksburg. Parking is available at the Ameristar Hotel or Casino.

- 5 mile Run
- 5 mile Walk
- 1 mile Fun Run for kids
Packet pick up is scheduled for October 9 at the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation Auditorium (corner of Crawford and Cherry Street) and also will be available at the race site prior to the event. Waivers must be physically signed by each participant or by a parent or legal guardian at packet pick up before participation is permitted. No packets or awards will be mailed and no refunds are available.
The event is directed by MS Race Timing and the Mississippi Track Club and is designated as a Grand Prix event. The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation receives the event proceeds. The course rules specify that headphones, rollerblades, strollers, bicycles, and animals are not allowed on the course. Entry fees are specified for each category, including an individual fee for the 5 mile race and a fee for the kids 1 mile fun run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
