Event Overview
The InFirst Bank Veteran's Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon Relay is an annual athletic event held in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Indiana Road Runners Club, the races take place on the Ghost Town Trail. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Western Pennsylvania Veterans Relief Fund, with proceeds directed toward supporting the needs of local veterans.
Course Details
The races are conducted on a rails-to-trails course, which features an out-and-back configuration. Participants encounter an approximate 2% uphill grade on the way out and a corresponding 2% downhill grade on the return trip. The marathon course is a certified Boston Marathon Qualifier.
Available race distances include:
- Marathon: A 26.2 mile individual race with nine stocked aid stations.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile individual race with five stocked aid stations.
- Marathon Relay: A 26.2 mile race for four-person teams in male, female, or co-ed divisions.
Race Participation
The relay portion consists of legs averaging just over 6 miles each, with accessible exchange zones provided for team members. A 7-hour cutoff time applies to the marathon and relay events, while the half marathon has a 6.5-hour limit. Marathon participants must reach the Dilltown halfway point within 3.5 hours to continue.
