About the race
2026 Veteran’s Lorton is a multi-distance road race held at Mason Neck State Park in Lorton, VA. The event uses a paved bike path through the park and is described as mostly flat. The 5k and 10k are run as out-and-back courses. A kids 1 mile course uses the same trail.
Distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Kids 1 mile
Points earned at the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Kids and Back of the Pack series and toward the Fall Series. Walkers are welcome. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results are available on Athlinks and via a race-day QR code, with final results and series points posted the Monday after the event.
Water stations are placed along the courses: one on the 5k at about mile 1.75 and three on the 10k at approximately miles 1.75, 3.3 and 4.85; Gatorade is available at some stations. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories; overall top three are not eligible for age-group awards.
