Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk - Wading River
The Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk to Honor Our Veterans is scheduled for November 11, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Park in Wading River, New York. The event is presented by Families of Honor and offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option with a virtual participation window extending through November 22 for online submissions.

The course is a simple out-and-back 5K entirely on a paved path, with the start and finish located by the park hockey rink. Registered participants who sign up by October 7 are guaranteed a commemorative long sleeve tech shirt; finishers receive a medal. Event amenities include on-site food and refreshments, a live DJ, free finish line photos, a free downloadable finisher certificate, and electronic age-graded timing with live results by Elitefeats. Raffles include 25+ gift cards and higher-value items.
A team competition called Battle of the Services groups participants by branch of service and by gender. Teams need at least three members to be eligible for scoring; winning teams are determined by the combined actual time of the top three finishers. Donations collected at the event are designated for American Legion Charities, the VFW Foundation, and the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
