Veterans Day 5K : Oxford
The Veterans Day 5K is a community run and walk held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Leonard G. Howell Park, 5200 Bonham Rd., Oxford, OH 45056. The event uses an out-and-back course on the Oxford Area Trails and is organized to support Miami University’s military-connected students through the Military Community Advocates program.
Entry options and benefits are explicit: general entry is $20, student entry is $10, and ROTC, active-duty military, and military veterans are free with promo code VETERAN26. All finishers receive a Veterans Day 5K challenge coin. The first 200 registrants receive a premium bag donated by Pig Works, the creators of the Flying Pig Marathon. Registration closes Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026.
Proceeds fund the Military Community Advocates’ 2026–27 projects, which include career workshops, a military-affiliated student career fair, improved onboarding for military-connected students, student research and surveying, and renewed outreach through Student Veterans of America chapters. These projects are intended to support career preparation, admissions, student success, and regional-campus outreach for military-connected students.
The event’s cancellation policy states that written notice received at least 72 hours in advance qualifies for a refund less a 10% administrative fee; after that time no refund will be issued. Requests must be submitted in writing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
