Veterans Day 5K - Mills River, NC
The Veterans Day 5K takes place on November 8, 2026, at Mills River Park in Mills River, North Carolina. Presented by Best Buy Metals, the event is a fundraiser for the Veterans Healing Farm, a nonprofit focused on veteran mental health and agritherapy programs.

- 5k race on the park greenway
- Fun Run Loop, approximately 1/2 mile
The 5k course uses two loops of the same route, beginning on Town Center Drive, and follows the family-friendly greenway through the park. The course is described as flat with surrounding mountain views. A water station is located at the start/finish area, near mile 1.5. Strollers are welcome and are asked to start at the back of the pack.
The untimed Fun Run Loop circles the greenway near the soccer fields, is about half a mile, and awards a bib and finisher medal to participants; there are no awards for the Fun Run. 5k registration includes a race shirt, a wooden finisher medal, chip timing, and a donation to the Veterans Healing Farm. Top finishers in male and female categories receive awards, including masters and grand masters distinctions.
