Veterans Day 5K - Mills River Park
The Veterans Day 5K is a fundraiser for Veterans Healing Farm held on November 8, 2026, at Mills River Park in Mills River, North Carolina. The event supports a local nonprofit that aims to enhance the mental, emotional, and physical well being of veterans and their families by creating a safe, peaceful environment that fosters healing and camaraderie.
Distances and options
- 5K - chip timed; includes finisher medal and race shirt.
- Fun Run - untimed 1/2 mile loop; includes finisher medal and bib.
- Virtual 5K - shirt, bib, and finisher medal mailed post race; not eligible for awards.
The 5K course follows the park greenway and consists of two loops that start on Town Center Drive. A water station is located at the start/finish area, around mile 1.5. The course is described as family friendly and subject to change.
Awards for the 5K include gift certificate prizes for the top male and female finishers and age category recognitions. Overall male and female awards are $20, $15, and $10 gift certificates for first through third place, with $10 gift certificates for select masters categories.
