Event Overview

The Veterans Day 5K is a fundraising event for Veterans Healing Farm, a local nonprofit supporting veterans through agriculture and community. It takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Mills River Park in Mills River, North Carolina. Best Buy Metals Asheville is the presenting sponsor.

Race Details

The event offers two race options:

A timed 5K race on the family-friendly greenway at Mills River Park.
An untimed Fun Run covering approximately half a mile on a flat loop.

Registration for the 5K includes a finisher medal, a race shirt, and chip timing. The Fun Run includes a finisher medal and a bib. A water station is available on the 5K course, located at the race start/finish near the 1.5-mile point.

Awards and Schedule

Awards are presented for the 5K in the male and female categories for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall, as well as for 1st Place Masters (40+) and 1st Place Grand Masters (50+). There are no awards for the Fun Run.

Packet pick-up begins on race day. The Fun Run starts first, followed by the 5K. An awards ceremony is scheduled tentatively for one hour after the 5K start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
