Veterans Day 5K
The Veterans Day 5K is a community fundraiser held at Mills River Park in Mills River, North Carolina. The event raises funds for Veterans Healing Farm and lists Best Buy Metals Asheville as the presenting sponsor.
Distances offered:
- 5k on the park greenway
- Fun Run Loop of about one half mile, untimed
- Virtual 5k with mailed race items
The 5k registration includes a finisher medal, a race shirt, and chip timing. The 5k course is two loops of the same route starting on Town Center Drive. A water station is located at the start/finish area, around mile 1.5. Course details are subject to change.
The Fun Run Loop is a flat, untimed route intended for children and others preferring a shorter distance. It includes a finisher medal and a bib. Parents and guardians may run or walk alongside. There are no awards for the Kids Loop. Fun Run participants may add a race shirt for an additional fee.
Virtual 5k participants receive a long sleeve shirt, a bib, and a finisher medal mailed after the event; virtual runners are not eligible for awards.
5k awards include overall male and female placements for first through third, plus age-based awards such as Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+).
