Veterans Day 5K - Mills River
The Veterans Day 5K is a community fundraiser for Veterans Healing Farm held at Mills River Park in Mills River, NC on November 8, 2026. The event supports a local nonprofit that uses agriculture and a peaceful environment to promote the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of veterans and their families.
The event offers the following options:
- 5K run with chip timing, finisher medal, and race shirt.
- Fun Run Loop approximately 1/2 mile with finisher medal and bib.
- Virtual 5K with medal, shirt, and bib mailed after the event.
The 5K course follows the park greenway and consists of two loops of the same route beginning on Town Center Drive. A water station is located near the start and finish area, around mile 1.5. The course is subject to change. The fun run is an untimed, flat loop intended for children and participants preferring a shorter distance; parents or guardians may run or walk alongside.
Awards for the 5K include overall top three placements for male and female categories, plus age-group awards such as Masters and Grand Masters.
