Veteran's Day 5K - Danville
The event is the 10th annual Veteran's Day 5K fundraiser for the American Legion Post 210. It is held in Danville, Illinois, at 201 Prospect Place, starting and finishing at the American Legion building.
Registration includes online registration until November 6 and a race day option. Packet pickup is on race day at the legion. The entry price increases closer to the event.
The course starts at the legion, heads north on a loop through a residential neighborhood, and returns to the start. The route is described as somewhat flat with some hills. Strollers are permitted, but pets are not allowed due to liability.
The event includes a pre-race ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem, presented by the American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. After the race, there is an after-party at the legion with free chili and desserts. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle are also planned.
