Veteran Games Challenge Manly 2026
The Veteran Games at North Steyne Beach, Manly NSW is presented as a weekend of team and public fitness events on Saturday 15 August and Sunday 16 August 2026. The program includes veteran heats for former and current military personnel and a separate public fitness challenge open to civilians.
Veteran heats require teams of eight to solve problems and complete physical tasks drawn from military service and combat. Teams must complete all events, which include a Team Obstacle Course Challenge and additional events revealed on the day. The champion team from the heats will be sponsored to attend the finals later in the year held in SEQ. Team entry is free and the Team Captain must register the team and team name first; competitors choose their competition day during registration and are allocated a competition time slot after registration.
The public Veteran Games Challenge is a pairs event that replicates military-style fitness tasks. Pairs move through obstacles and static fitness stations with a 100 m beach run between stations and a target completion time of 30 minutes. Entry is $75 per person and competitors must register as pairs.
Any person who has served in the military is eligible for veteran entry; competitors may be former or current serving, Australian or overseas. Recommended preparation includes stretcher carries, rope climbs, equipment carries, obstacle fundamentals and short sprints. Veteran clothing guidance notes camouflage pants and boots; non-veterans are advised to wear active wear and enclosed shoes.
Organisers have public liability coverage and require vendors to show their own insurance. If the event is cancelled registrations will carry forward to the following year and refunds are available to those who choose to withdraw. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
