VARRA Firecracker 5K
The VARRA Firecracker 5K is an annual running event held on July 4 in Victoria, Texas. The event features two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile (Sparkler Kids Run)
The races take place at Riverside Park, with the starting area and event activities centered around the Riverside Stadium Parking Lot on Memorial Drive. Participants in both events can utilize the stadium parking lot for race day parking.
This event utilizes chip timing to provide results for all runners. Awards are presented to the Overall Male and Overall Female finishers. Additionally, age group awards are provided three deep in 10 year increments.
Registration for the event remains open until the morning of the race. Packet pickup and bib assignment occur on-site at the Riverside Stadium check-in table prior to the start of the events. Members of the Victoria Area Road Runners Association (VARRA) are eligible for a discount on their entry fee.
The 5K run is the primary event, followed by the Sparkler Kids 1 Mile run, which is specifically organized to allow younger participants to take part in the festivities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
