Event overview
Valentine's Heartbreaker Marathon & Relay takes place on February 8, 2026, at Country Park in Greensboro, NC (3905 Nathanael Greene Dr., Greensboro, NC 27455 US). The event offers a solo marathon and relay team options. Participants can run the full marathon alone or form teams of 2, 4, or 5-8 members. The full course is 16 laps (26.2 miles) around the park. Each participant receives a hoodie and a finisher's medal; hoodies are guaranteed only if registration is completed at least three weeks before race day. Team members register and pay individually. A designated team captain collects packet items such as hoodies, baton, and bibs at packet pickup.
Format, timing and awards
The event uses electronic timing: baton-chip for relays and bib-chip for solo runners. The Solo Division awards the top three male and top three female overall. Teams are awarded to the top three in each listed category unless noted otherwise; the 5-8 person category awards only the top team. Team categories include gender and age-based divisions (for example, "Young Punks" for a 4-person team with combined ages of 80 or younger) and weight-based teams (combined weight over 800 lbs). Teams must alternate runners and complete laps in sequence to be eligible for awards. Awards must be picked up on race day; they will not be mailed.
