2027 Valentine’s Day 5k & Half
This event offers two chip-timed races that take place along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown and at Fletcher’s Boathouse. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
- Half marathon: out-and-back on the C&O Canal, light gravel road, minimal elevation change.
- 5k: out-and-back on the C&O Canal path, light gravel, flat with no major elevation gains.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Dri-FIT event shirt, and electronic chip timing. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race; a QR code at the event links to live results. Runner tracking via SMS is offered during registration.
Water stations are provided along the half marathon course at seven approximate mile markers and along the 5k at one approximate mile marker; some stations will offer Gatorade. Port-a-johns are available near check-in. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving 90 minutes before an individual’s race. There will be no on-site race registration for this event.
