Event overview
The 2026 Valentine’s Day 5k & Half takes place on February 15, 2026, organized by Bishops Events in Georgetown and at Fletcher’s Boathouse along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. Distances offered:
- 5k
- Half marathon
Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are allowed. Finishers receive a medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing.
Course and logistics
Both races are out-and-back routes on the C&O Canal path, described as a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change. The half marathon starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club; the 5k starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse. The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3:15.
Race services and rules noted by the organizer: packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before February 4. Water stations are provided—seven along the half marathon at approximate mile markers and one on the 5k course; Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns will be located near the check-in area. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to age-group finishers by specified age ranges; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
