UVU 4.01K Race to Retirement
The event takes place Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah. It combines a short family fun run with informational resources about workplace retirement planning.
Check-in and registration open with free T-shirts available first come first serve. Resource booths and music will operate through the morning. A kids run of 401 meters for age 12 and under takes place on the track. A Zumba warm-up and sponsor remarks precede the adult 4.01K run/walk. Awards recognize the top three male and female finishers, and prize drawings follow.
The event highlights a local retirement education message: estimates show about one third of Utahns take their full employer match on a workplace 401k. Utah Valley University and Fidelity Investments aim to promote two steps for a more secure retirement: get the full employer match and invest that money.
Coaches from UVU's Money Success Center and Fidelity will provide free onsite coaching the day of the event and can help participants check whether they are receiving their employer match and investing those funds.
