The event raises funds for Camp Holiday Trails. This is a camp for children and teens, aged 6 to 17, with medical needs and their siblings. It has been operating in Charlottesville since 1974. The camp offers sessions tailored to specific diagnoses, overnight and day camp options, and year-round activities.
Event Details
The main event is a 5 km run or walk. A virtual option is also available. The listed entry fee is $25, and a student discount is offered for $20 until a specific date. The start line is near the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers and Brooks Hall, while the finish and check-in area are at a different location. A short group walk to the start line is planned before the race begins. Volunteers and course markings will be present.
Participant Perks
Participants who register by April 22 will receive a T-shirt. All registrants receive a raffle ticket. Refreshments, including bagels, cream cheese, bananas, and muffins, are provided after the race.
