UVA School of Medicine 5K Benefiting Camp Holiday Trails

The UVA School of Medicine 5K Benefiting Camp Holiday Trails is scheduled for April 25, 2026, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at 180 McCormick Rd. The event includes an on-site 5K around UVA Grounds and a virtual "Run Anywhere" option. The race raises funds for Camp Holiday Trails, a nonprofit program for children and teens with medical needs.

All in-person registrants receive a T-shirt if registered before April 22, a raffle ticket, and refreshments at the finish line celebration. The finish area and check-in are located near Newcomb Hall, where bathrooms are available. Organizers recommend parking at Central Grounds Parking Garage, 400 Emmett St South. The start is at a different campus location near the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers and Brooks Hall, about a five to ten minute walk from the finish area. Volunteers and course markings will be present along the route.

Camp Holiday Trails serves children and teens ages 6 to 17 with qualifying diagnoses. The camp offers diagnosis-specific and mixed-diagnosis sessions, overnight and day options, and year-round programming. Medical care is provided on site during camp sessions. The organization reports a true cost of $2,000 per camper and a nonrefundable camper fee of $100. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
