UVA School of Medicine 5K Benefiting Camp Holiday Trails
The University of Virginia School of Medicine presents the 43rd annual 5K on April 25, 2026, in Charlottesville with an in-person course around UVA Grounds and a virtual "Run Anywhere" option. The event raises funds for Camp Holiday Trails and includes in-person race amenities.
Registration opens January 20 and closes April 22. Standard registration is listed at $25; a student discount rate of $20 is available through April 22. In-person registrants who sign up before April 22 will receive a T-shirt; all registrants receive a raffle ticket and refreshments at the finish line celebration.
Camp Holiday Trails is a nonprofit camp for children and teens with medical needs. Operating since 1974, the camp serves eligible campers ages 6 to 17 and their siblings through diagnosis-specific and mixed-diagnosis sessions, overnight and day camp options, and year-round programs. Activities include a challenge course, a horseback riding program with adaptive equipment when needed, and traditions such as a Wishboat Ceremony. Camp staff provide 24/7 medical care during sessions. The stated full cost per camper for a week is $2,000 while the nonrefundable camper fee is $100, reflecting donor support to increase accessibility.
