UTAH 115 by Grand to Grand Ultra
UTAH 115 is a multi-day ultrarunning event in Kanab, Utah, held 14 to 16 May 2027. The event offers three out-and-back race distances:
- 115 miles with a 50 hour cutoff
- 50 miles with a 20 hour cutoff
- 50 kilometres with a 13 hour cutoff
Courses run from the start and finish in Kanab, at about 4,970 feet (1,515 meters) elevation, and traverse high desert terrain. Runners will encounter hard packed and soft sand, sand dunes, rocky and double-track roads, forest trails, red-rock climbs, canyons and plateaus. The 115-mile course crosses the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Wildlife and desert flora may be visible along the route.
Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drinks, some hot drinks at night, and a variety of food including fruit, sandwiches, soups and morning breakfasts. Some aid stations offer shared sleeping tents with pads and blankets; the sleep time limit at these stations is three hours. Course markings are placed generally every 50 to 100 yards; if no marker is seen for 200 yards the runner must return to the last known marker. Reflective markers and night lighting may be used and runners are required to carry a light sufficient to find unlit markers.
Entry requirements include minimum age 18. There are no specific qualification standards though prior ultrarunning or thru hiking experience is recommended. The event is USATF sanctioned. Registration closes 30 April 2027 and tiered fees, discounts, on-site camping, tent rentals and RV spaces are offered. Drop bag rules set size limits and labeling requirements; only one drop bag is allowed per runner per aid station location. Cancellation and refund terms vary by date and are specified by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
