Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K
The Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K is a community road race held in Veterans Park, Richfield (636 E 66th St). The event began in 2003 to benefit Wood Lake Nature Center's environmental education program, a partnership with Richfield Public Schools that began in 1971.

Both courses are circular and wind through shaded residential neighborhoods, natural areas including Wood Lake Nature Center, and neighborhood parks. The half marathon course is USATF-certified. Course maps are provided.
Registration is conducted online only and remains open until the race begins; the price increases through the season. After the first week of July, a runner shirt is not included with registration; registrations completed by the end of July 8 include a shirt order. Packet pickup is available the day before between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and on race day beginning at 5:45 a.m., at the Richfield Band Shell next to the Ice Arena in Veterans Park; a friend may pick up materials for a runner.
Chip timing is provided by MTEC Results and results are searchable online. Finishers receive a wood finisher medal on a leather lanyard; this year’s medal is shaped like a turtle. Photos from the event are available online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
