Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K
The Urban Wildland Half Marathon and 5K is a community road race in Veterans Park, Richfield (636 E 66th St). The event began in 2003 to benefit Wood Lake Nature Center’s environmental education program in partnership with Richfield Public Schools, a partnership that began in 1971.
Both courses are circular and wind through shaded residential neighborhoods, natural areas including Wood Lake Nature Center, and neighborhood parks. The half marathon is a USATF certified course. Chip timing for results is provided by MTEC Results, and race day award categories are listed on the event results page.

Packet pickup is available at the Richfield Band Shell next to the Ice Arena in Veterans Park. Pickup is open the day before the race between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and on race day beginning at 5:45 a.m.; a friend may pick up materials for a runner. Finisher medals are wooden pieces on a leather lanyard and this year’s medal is shaped like a turtle.
Registration is open online until race start and remains online only. Entry fees increase over the season; T shirt availability depends on registration date and extra shirts may be sold after the race if available. The event has a published severe weather policy.
