Run to Remember 5K
The Upton VFW hosts the 17th Annual Run to Remember 5K on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event honors Active, Reserve, and Guard members and veterans; participants are encouraged to wear the name of a veteran they wish to honor, and the Post can provide names if needed.
The course is USATF certified (course ID MA18301JK, effective August 4, 2023) and is described as mostly flat and family-friendly on 100% road surfaces. Walkers and joggers with strollers are welcome but must start behind runners. Pets are not permitted.
Distances:
- 5K certified road race.
- 2.25K walk on roads.
- Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under; distance varies.
Registration fees include early registration at $30, reduced rates of $25 for ages 6–15 and ages 80–100, and a day-of registration fee of $35. To be guaranteed a t-shirt, registration must be completed by Saturday, September 19. Race packets with bibs and shirts (if ordered by the deadline) are available for early pickup at the VFW Post and on race morning.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, first through third in multiple age groups, first through third for male and female veterans, and first place awards for a teacher, a firefighter, and a police officer.
