About the race
The Tri‑Valley Front Runners Upton trail races are held in Upton State Forest, Upton, MA, on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The event offers two trail distances on technical, hilly single track and forest road terrain: a half marathon run as two laps and a shorter 10.5K course. Course details include approximately 6.5 miles per lap with about 720 feet elevation gain per lap. Aid stations are placed roughly every three miles, with locations at the corner of Dean Pond Road and Park Road and at the Park Road and Loop Road intersection.
The course does not allow dogs and is not stroller friendly. Pre-registration closes 11/6/26; there is a cap of 250 total participants and no day of registration. Pre-registration fees are listed as $30 for the shorter trail distance and $35 for the half marathon. Bib pickup begins at 7:30 AM on race day.
Early bib pickup is available 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rushford & Sons Brewhouse, 8 Grove St, Upton, MA. Awards begin at 11:15 AM. Parking is available onsite. Event extras include beanies for the first 100 registrants, TVFR swag, fire pits, hot soup, light snacks, and hot chocolate.
