Event overview
The Taos Ski Valley Up & Over Trail Run Weekend takes place August 1-2, 2026 in Taos Ski Valley, NM. The weekend includes multiple trail events over two days: a 10k mountain run, a vertical 1k climb, a two-day combined option, and a kids 1k fun run. Some events list age limits and registration limits; several events have registration deadlines in early January 2026. - Double Trouble Two-day challenge combining the 10k and VertK.
- Up & Dn Kids 1k out-and-back on Pioneer Run - open to ages 10 and under.
The Up & Over 10k finishes above tree line with alpine terrain and includes views of Kachina and Wheeler Peaks followed by a technical descent. VerticAL's VertK follows a steep ski run known as Al's Run.
Registration, age limits and runner services
Published entry fees include $65 for the 10k, $40 for the VertK, $90 for the Double Trouble, and $12 for the kids run. Some events show remaining spots and registration close or reopen dates in January 2026. VertK and Double Trouble are open to participants 16 and older. The kids run is untimed, awards overall boy and girl winners, and gives all finishers a medal; half of its proceeds go to the Enchanted Circles Trail Association. Registered runners receive items such as a tech t-shirt, a lightweight backpack bib bag, a wooden finisher medal, professional timing, post-race recovery nutrition, and awards for top finishers.
