Up & Over Trail Run Weekend : Taos Ski Valley
Up & Over Trail Run Weekend takes place the first weekend of August 2026 in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico. The weekend program includes multiple trail events over two days with mountain terrain, high elevation, and alpine views.
Event distances include:
- 10K course with a 2,612 foot climb from 9,321 ft to 11,819 ft and a technical descent.
- 20K commemorative double loop with about 4,700 feet of vertical gain and a 3 hour 15 minute time limit.
- VertK vertical 1K up Al’s Run with a 1,497 foot gain.
- Up & Dn Kid’s 1K out and back for children 10 and under.
The 20K requires a qualifying half marathon time of 2:30 or faster to enter. VertK participation is limited to those 16 years and older. The Kid’s 1K is untimed; overall boy and girl winners receive prizes and all young finishers receive a medal. Half of the Kid’s race proceeds support the Enchanted Circles Trail Association.
Races are professionally timed and include on-course hydration and post-race recovery services. Registered runners receive event apparel, a runner’s backpack, a commemorative finishers premium, and a beer ticket for those 21 and older. Prizes are awarded in seven age categories and for combined Double Trouble winners. The event runs rain or shine and does not offer refunds.
