University of Okoboji Homecoming Races
The University of Okoboji Homecoming Races take place around West Lake Okoboji with the finish on the Arnolds Park Promenade. Multiple events are offered, including triathlon, half marathon, 10K and 5K, with routes starting at various locations around West Lake Okoboji and the finish at Arnolds Park Amusement Park waterfront.
Packet pickup is at the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce in Arnolds Park and includes BIBs, T-shirts, timing chips, and instructions. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday before the race. No race day registration is allowed and the event has a no refunds or transfers policy.
Aid stations offering water and sports drink are placed approximately every 1 to 2 miles. Courses are marked with signage and participants must wear visible race numbers and assigned timing chips to be eligible for awards. Participants are responsible for confirming correct BIB and chip assignment before race day and for returning chips after events; a fee may be charged for missing or unreturned chips.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age category for all events. Cash prizes are listed for top male and female finishers in the half marathon, 10K and triathlon. Shuttle bus service returns participants to starting points after the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
