United We Run 5K Run & Walk
The United We Run 5K Run & Walk takes place in Gainesville, Georgia, starting from the Chicopee Baptist Church. This athletic event follows a paved route along Phase II of the Highlands to Islands Trail. The course is USATF Certified, with the certification finalized in July 2022. Participants can choose between two main options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual Run
The event is held in various weather conditions, though organizers may reschedule in the case of dangerous weather. Entry fees are non-refundable and support the United Way of Hall County's One Hall: United Against Poverty Initiative.
Participants in the 5K event receive a t-shirt as part of their registration. Medals are awarded to the top overall male and female runners, as well as the top male and female finishers in the masters category (ages 40 and over). Additionally, medals are provided for the top finishers across ten separate age groups ranging from 19 and under to 60 and over.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the United Way of Hall County office on Oak Street, or on the morning of the event at the race location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
