18th Annual United Way Turkey Trot
United Way of the Coastal Empire stages the 18th annual Turkey Trot at Daffin Park in Savannah on Thanksgiving morning. The course is a loop that travels through the Ardsley Park neighborhood and finishes back at Daffin Park. A race map is available.
Event options include:
- Kids K : 0.62 miles, ages 10 and under
- Diaper Dash : 35 yards (0.02 mile), ages 3 and under
- 4 mile Run/Walk : children 4 and up require a registered bib
Participants may be invited to an awards presentation and to receive food and beverages after results are tabulated. Overall awards recognize the top three male and female finishers and the top three male and female in each age group. Specialty awards include largest family and best costume; participants must register for specialty awards at packet pickup.
Race policies state no rollerblades, roller skates, or bicycles on the course. Pets are allowed only when accompanied by a participant and kept on a leash. Strollers are permitted. The event is held rain or shine.
Packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet Sports, 3405 Waters Ave., Savannah, on the two days prior to race day. Registration closes on Wednesday, November 25 unless the event sells out. There is no on site registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
