Event Overview
The Unicorn 5k (South) takes place at Highlands Heritage Regional Park in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. This summer event offers two different distances for participants to choose from:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 3/4 Mile Saunter
The 5k is a chip-timed event that serves as an official qualifier for the BolderBoulder. Participants in this distance are permitted to walk or run. The 3/4 mile saunter is an untimed option aimed at those who prefer a shorter distance.
Participant Amenities and Activities
All registered participants receive several items, including a gender-specific event shirt, one free cotton candy, and access to free photo downloads. On-site entertainment features include face painting and a balloon artist creating varied designs. Those who complete the 5k distance also receive a finisher medal.
The event includes a community charity component in partnership with Backpack Society. A raffle is held on race day; participants who bring five or more in-kind donation items for the food bank are entered into the draw. Additionally, there is a shoe donation program through Sneakers4Funds, which supports Growing Home.
Costumes are encouraged for all participants. Group registration is available, with price reductions offered for teams of five or more people in the 5k event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
