Event overview
The Altra Charles Street 12 and 2-Person Relay presented by Kelly Benefits takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, with a start at The Shops at Kenilworth in Towson, MD and a finish in downtown Baltimore. The point-to-point course runs south along Charles Street, a National Scenic Byway, from Baltimore County into Baltimore City. Events offered include the 12 Miler, a 2-Person Relay, and virtual options for both the 12 Miler and the relay. The race is part of the 2026 Altra B3 Distance Series.
Logistics and race features
The race includes six on-course aid stations at approximately 2.5, 4.8, 6.1, 7.4, 9.0, and 10.9 miles; the first station provides water only and the others provide water and electrolytes. There is a 3-hour course time limit. Bus transportation to the start is included in registration; there is no parking at The Shops at Kenilworth and participant parking will be available near the finish line for those using bus transport. Packet pickup occurs at Charm City Run store locations in Annapolis, Bel Air, Columbia, Fells Point, Timonium, and at the start on race day; virtual participants may have packets mailed after the race. Awards are given to top three overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary individuals, top masters, and age-group placings; overall awards use gun time and age-group awards use chip time.
