Bear Creek Mountain - UltraTrax (April 3, 2027)
UltraTrax at Bear Creek Mountain is a single-day endurance walking event in Macungie, PA. Participants choose from four distances that are based on a 7-mile loop and must complete their chosen distance within a 10-hour window.
The route follows wooded single-track near the base of Bear Creek, moving into shaded forest climbs, mossy hardwoods, rocky ridgelines, and open mountain corridors with valley and ski-slope views. The loop gains about 1,203 feet of elevation and finishes back at the trailhead after a steady descent onto open terrain.
Support and logistics include professional timing, trail signage and volunteers at key intersections, and aid stations every 2.5 to 3 miles providing water, electrolytes, snacks, and toilets. Professional race photography is included. Registrations are non-refundable but may be transferable for a fee. Event season is spring and the listed average temperature is 69°F.
Participants can choose to carry additional weight for rucking with options of 10, 20, or 35 pounds; they must provide their own vest or backpack for weigh-in. Finisher items include a commemorative patch and shirt; the Grey Wolf medal is awarded for completing three or four loops. Lodging options are available at Bear Creek Mountain Resort with event discounts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
