Ultra Trail Chattanooga by UTMB
Ultra Trail Chattanooga by UTMB brings the World Series to the southeastern United States, organized around the River to Clouds route. The course carries runners from riverfront streets through downtown Chattanooga into Appalachian ridgelines, creating a progression from urban terrain to mountain trails. As elevation increases, the route moves into more remote mountain scenery and changing trail conditions.
The event includes multiple distances with published elevation gains and UTMB Running Stones values:
- 100 km, 2436 m+ elevation, Running Stones 3
- 50.5 km, 1163 m+ elevation, Running Stones 2
- 20.5 km, 410 m+ elevation, Running Stones 1
Race weekend emphasizes local connection and community presence. Race text describes downtown streets, river paths, and mountain trailheads woven together so spectators, locals, and runners share proximity along the course. The UTMB Community Bibs program channels part of registration funds to local charities and trail stewardship programs; half of the Community Bib registration cost is directed to a local charity chosen by the race team. The event also notes features tied to UTMB accounts, including access to past race statistics, the UTMB Index, Running Stones tracking, and listings of upcoming World Series events.
Registration opening dates are listed for each distance in the event materials. The event is presented as a route shaped by Chattanooga geography and community support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
