Event overview
UltiMutt Race is an obstacle course event for a dog and owner team held alongside an all-day festival. The event lists a race distance of 5k / 3 Miles and features 17 obstacles on the course. Race format and rules
Competitive Wave runners are chip timed and compete for the UltiMutt Champion title and a trophy. Fun Run participants are not timed. Competitive runners may skip an obstacle by performing 30 squats; Fun Run participants may skip obstacles without penalty. Racers start in organized waves, with five racers released every one minute. Each participant may run only one dog at a time per registration; running twice with different dogs requires a separate registration and switching race bibs.
Dogs must be at least 1 year old, up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations, and free of health issues or aggression. Dogs must be leashed at all times; retractable leashes are prohibited. Hands-free leashes and harnesses are recommended.
Fundraising, awards, and other details
A portion of registration fees and 100% of donations raised are given to a partnering local animal shelter. Participants are encouraged to raise funds with an optional $100 challenge. Race finishers receive a medal, T-shirt, dog bandana, and commemorative patch. Volunteers receive event swag and can request documentation for volunteer hours.
