Event overview
UltiMutt Race is an obstacle course event for a dog-and-owner team. The next scheduled UltiMutt Race date is April 11, 2026. The course is described on the site as a 5k and also shown as 3 miles, with 17 obstacles and an all-day festival. A portion of every registration fee and 100% of donations raised are gifted to a partnering local animal shelter. The event issues an optional fundraising challenge asking participants to raise $100 by race day.
Race format, rules and extras
The event offers Competitive and Fun Run categories. The Competitive Wave is chip timed; the Fun Run is not timed. Competitive winners receive a trophy and the title UltiMutt Champion; finishers receive a medal, a finisher T-shirt, a dog bandana, and a commemorative iron-on patch. To skip an obstacle in the Competitive Wave a participant must perform 30 squats; Fun Run participants may skip obstacles without that penalty. Dogs must be leashed at all times; retractable leashes are not allowed. Hands-free leashes and dog harnesses are recommended. Dogs must be at least one year old, up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella), and free of health issues or aggression. Each participant may run only one dog at a time; racing twice with different dogs requires a separate registration and switching the race bib. Start waves are organized with five racers every 1 minute. Volunteers receive event swag and can request documentation for volunteer hours.
