Event overview
UltiMutt Race is a dog-and-owner obstacle course event scheduled for April 11, 2026. The course covers 3 Miles (5k) and includes 17 obstacles. The event also features an all-day festival alongside the race. There are two race categories: a Competitive Wave that is chip timed and eligible for the UltiMutt Champion title, and a Fun Run that uses the same course but is not timed.
Rules, format and fundraising
Racing is organized in small waves, with five racers released every one minute to reduce bottlenecks at obstacles. Each participant may run one dog at a time; running twice requires a separate registration and swapping the race bib between runs. Dogs must be at least one year old, current on Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations, and free of health issues or signs of aggression. Dogs must remain leashed at all times; retractable leashes are prohibited and a hands-free leash plus harness is recommended. Competitive Wave runners who choose to skip an obstacle must perform 30 squats. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher T-shirt, a dog bandana and a commemorative patch; winners receive a trophy and a featured listing on the Champions page. Participants are offered an optional fundraising challenge to raise $100; 100% of donations and a portion of registration fees are given to a partnering local animal shelter.
