Dog and Owner Obstacle Race
The Ultimutt Race is a specialized obstacle course event designed for canine and human teams. The course spans 3 miles (approximately 5 km) and features 17 different obstacles. Participants can choose between two main categories based on their preference for competition or recreation.
Participants can register for the following options:
- Competitive Wave - A chip-timed category where runners compete for the title of UltiMutt Champion. Participants who choose to skip an obstacle must perform a penalty of 30 squats.
- Fun Run - A non-timed version of the course where teams can complete obstacles at their own pace and skip any challenge without a penalty.
The event is open to individuals with or without a dog. For those running with a dog, the animal must be at least one year old and up to date on vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and retractable leashes are prohibited. To manage the flow of traffic and prevent bottlenecks at obstacles, the race uses a staggered start, with five racers beginning every minute.
The event also features an all-day festival celebrating dogs. A portion of every registration fee and all additional donations are directed toward partnering animal shelters in the local community. Each finisher receives a medal, a t-shirt, a dog bandana, and a commemorative iron-on patch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
