Event Overview

The Ulster Project Delaware 5K is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026. The event is a 5K run starting and finishing in the Conaty Park area of Wilmington, Delaware, at 1591 Gilpin Ave.

Beneficiary

The race benefits Ulster Project Delaware (UPD). UPD is a program founded in 1976 to build understanding between Northern Irish Catholic and Protestant teenagers. Each July, the project brings a group of teenagers, aged 14 to 16, to the Wilmington area for a four-week stay with host families. During this time, they participate in team building, social, sightseeing, spiritual, and service activities.

Event Details

The bib pickup occurs on the morning of the race, from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, at Catherine Rooney's. The race starts at 9:00 AM.

Participants can expect a post-race celebration at Catherine Rooney's with snacks and drinks. A race t-shirt is included for runners.

Awards

Awards are given for overall male and female finishers, overall masters male and female finishers, and the top three in each age group for both genders. Age groups are: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
