Ulster Project Delaware 5K
The Ulster Project Delaware 5K is an annual running event held in Wilmington. The race serves to benefit Ulster Project Delaware (UPD), an organization established in 1976 that focuses on fostering mutual understanding between Northern Irish teenagers of different backgrounds through a month-long exchange program in the local area.
Participants in the event complete a 5 km course starting at the Conaty Park area. Street parking is available throughout the surrounding neighborhood for those traveling to the event. Registered participants receive a race t-shirt, post-race snacks, and drinks. Following the run, a celebration is held at Catherine Rooney's.
Awards are presented across several categories based on timing results. These include:
- Overall Male and Female winners
- Overall Masters Male and Female winners
- Top three finishers in male and female age groups: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
