The Santa Cause 5K in Newark, Delaware
The Santa Cause 5K takes place on December 12, 2026 in Newark, DE, with the event site listed as Klondike Kate's at 158 East Main Street. The race distance is 5K and the course starts at Olan Thomas Park below Cleveland Avenue. The course is USATF certified.
Participants receive a race t-shirt, a custom bib, post-race snacks, and post-race drinks at Klondike Kate's. Bib pick up is organized at Olan Thomas Park on race day. Awards include overall male and female, overall masters, and the top three finishers in each age group by sex. Age groups are 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Overall and masters awards are based on gun time; age-group awards are based on chip time. Awards presentation takes place at Klondike Kate's.
The event partners with Friends of Fusion Foundation, a nonprofit supporting children and first responders in Delaware. The race also collects holiday food drive donations for the Newark Area Welfare Committee; requested items include cereal, granola bars, baking mixes, pancake mix, canned soups and stews, and canned meats. Organizers note ample parking near the venue and suggest parking behind Klondike Kate's. A course map is provided for directional purposes.
