2026 Ugly Sweater Dash 5k, 10k and Half
The event on November 28 takes place at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA, with the race start and finish at Shelter A. It offers multiple distances on maintained trail routes that are fairly flat but include roots to navigate. The 5k and 10k use a single out-and-back route; the half marathon is two out-and-back loops.

Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for participants registered before November 16; additional shirts are available after that on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event.
Water and on-course support are provided. The half marathon has nine water stations located at approximate mile markers 1.1, 3.1, 3.5, 5.1, 6.55, 7.65, 9.65, 10.0 and 12.0. The 10k has three stations near miles 1.1, 3.1 and 5.1. The 5k has two stations near miles 1.1 and 2.0. Gatorade is available at some stations; stations are subject to change.
Points from this race count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, Endurance and Back of the Pack series and the Fall Series. A virtual race option is offered. Live results are posted on Athlinks with final results and series points published the Monday after the race.
The event benefits Paws for Purple Hearts, an organization that provides assistance dog and canine‑assisted therapeutic programs for veterans facing mobility and trauma related conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
