UCON DO IT CHALLENGE 2026

The UCON DO IT CHALLENGE is a trail running event in Santa Cruz, CA, United States, organized by Running Riot Running Club. The 2026 edition is the fifth running of the event and takes place on March 29, 2026. Registrations reached 100 and the event is listed as full; a waiting list is available at no charge.

Participants run the UCON trail in an out and back format and complete as many laps as they can within a three hour time limit. Each lap covers approximately 1.75 miles and gains about 500 feet of elevation on mostly packed dirt trail. Participants and spectators are directed to park in Parking Lot 111 at UCSC.

The event has no required entry fee, though a suggested donation of $15 is noted to help cover costs; donations are also accepted on the day of the event. Snacks, electrolytes and water are provided for participants.

A liability waiver is required for participation. The waiver includes a release of claims, an assumption of risk, consent to medical treatment if necessary, an indemnification clause, and states that the agreement is governed by the laws of California. The waiver form also includes a representation regarding age and competence to execute the agreement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
