Reindeer Run - Boulder Creek
The Reindeer Run is an annual, family friendly 5k fun run in Boulder Creek held on December 24. The 2026 edition is the 10th annual running of the event. It serves as a fundraiser for the Boulder Creek Recreation and Park District and will take place at Junction Park, 13264 Middleton Avenue, Boulder Creek. The event proceeds regardless of weather.
Racing is organized into five heats across the morning, including a competitive runners heat, several open heats, an animal-and-human heat, and a Slay Bell Sprint with details to be announced. Organizers plan early bib pick-up opportunities and allow day-of registration; participants are asked to arrive early enough for registration and sign-in procedures. Sign-in is scheduled relative to each heat.
Route improvements are being made for 2026, with final course details to be published by December 1, 2026. Maps and course signage will be provided, and safety is emphasized through increased route monitoring. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for best human and animal costumes in each heat; the animal heat will include a prize for Most Unique Animal. A food drive for the Valley Churches United Food Pantry will run at the event to collect non-perishable items. Organizers are seeking volunteers, vendors, and sponsors for the event.
