15th Annual Tyler Run for Autism
The Tyler Run for Autism is a community event established in 2012 to support local children with autism in receiving medical treatment. The event is fully sponsored, allowing the proceeds to go directly to the Treatment and Learning Center for Children with Autism. The race activities take place in Tyler, Texas, starting and finishing near Pollard UMC on New Copeland Road.
The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 1 Mile
The course consists of mostly asphalt terrain. Safety and navigation are supported by directional signage, volunteers, and local police presence. Participants in the 5K and 10K events receive chip timing and are eligible for overall and age group awards. A new category for the largest team award is also available.
Included in the registration is an event shirt, a finisher medal, and access to a post-race vendor fair. Packet pickup is organized on the day before the event at a local venue and on the morning of the races. All participants are required to sign waivers before collecting their materials. The event morning includes opening ceremonies with a blessing, color guard, and national anthem, followed by a guided warm-up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
