East Texas Gold Run
The East Texas Gold Run is the 12th annual event presented by Gold Network of East TX, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves local pediatric cancer families. The run takes place at Bergfeld Park, 1510 S College Ave., Tyler, Texas. The event aligns with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September and uses the gold ribbon as its symbol. All proceeds support the nonprofit's local family programs and pediatric cancer research projects.
Event options include road race distances and a donation option. Available entries cover youth and adult age groups and a donation-only Sleep in option called Gold Dreamer.
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 Miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (1 Mile)
- Gold Dreamer Sleep in donation option
A Kids Dash is part of the schedule and requires no registration. Packet pickup is available one day only at Azalea Orthopedics, 3414 Golden Road, Tyler, TX. The organizer lists registration fees for individual events and separate youth categories; fees and registration windows are provided by the organizer. The event description notes a community focus: to celebrate survivors, encourage those still in treatment, and honor the memory of children lost to cancer.
