19th Annual Tybee Turtle Trot 5K Beach Run
The event is a beach run taking place on April 25, 2026 at North Beach, Tybee Island, located at 37 Meddin Dr, Tybee Island, GA 31328 beside the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. The run distance is 5K and the start and finish are on the beach by the boardwalk next to the science center.
Registration is offered in two pricing periods: Early Bird (January 20 to February 28) at $35 per person and Regular (March 1 to April 23) at $45 per person. Registration includes a runner shirt, a medal, and free admission to the science center on race day. The deadline to guarantee a runner shirt is April 6.
Packet pick up is at 37 Meddin Dr in the undercroft by the black gate on the left side of the building on the day before the event and on the event day. Proceeds benefit the Sea Turtle Conservation Fund and support the Tybee Sea Turtle Project. This project is permitted through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to monitor and protect sea turtles and nests on Tybee Island. Funds raised this year are designated for a beach utility vehicle to improve response to nesting and injured sea turtles.
