Two Hearted Trail Run - Paradise, Michigan
The Two Hearted Trail Run is a trail race held in the remote northeastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, finishing at the Upper Tahquamenon Falls. The event offers three distances:
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
Courses travel along Lake Superior coastline, high bluffs, shoreline forests, Culhane Lake, the Little Two Hearted River and old growth white pine stands. About 80% of the routes are single track and 20% are dirt forest road or two track. The half marathon is a loop that includes a ridge on the southern shore of Clark Lake. The finish area is approximately 200 meters from Camp 33 Brew Pub.
Aid stations are located roughly 4 to 7 miles apart and are accessible by vehicle. Runners are required to carry a 20 oz water bottle or a functional hydration system that can be refilled; volunteers provide water, electrolyte drink and energy gels at aid stations. The 50K field requires prior completion of a marathon or ultra event. Entrant limit for the event is 400 runners.
All finishers who complete their registered course receive a commemorative Aravaipa Artworx award and a custom finisher medallion. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Volunteers are provided race credits, a race tee and food and drink at the finish festival.
