Event details

The Tahqua Trail Run takes place on August 8, 2026 at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Paradise, Michigan. The event offers the following distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 10K

Course description

The 25K course starts on the Tahqua Trail 4.3 miles west of Whitefish Bay. Runners follow a dirt forest road to the North Country Trail (NCT) and continue on single-track through spruce swales, pine ridges, bogs, Jack Pine savannah and past Camp 10 and Water Tank lakes. The route reaches Lower Tahquamenon Falls about 9.5 miles in, then follows Lower Falls trails and the River Trail along the Tahquamenon River, which features old growth hemlock and yellow birch and finishes near the top of Upper Tahquamenon Falls. The 10K begins behind the Lower Falls gift shop, includes a 1.7 mile loop into the forested highlands, then joins the River Trail to finish above the Upper Falls. The 50K in 2026 is an out-and-back of the 25K route.
