Two Cities Marathon
The Two Cities Marathon is an annual event held in the Central Valley of California, traceably located along the border of Fresno and Clovis. Now in its 18th year, the event features a variety of race distances that utilize the local landscape to provide scenic and flat courses. The main venue for the finish and several logistical operations is Clovis Community College.
The event provides multiple participation options including:
- Full Marathon (26.2 Miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10k Run/Walk
- 5k Run/Walk
- Virtual Run
The full marathon course is a Boston qualifier and includes specific features such as the Boston Challenge and a competition during the final mile of both the full and half distances. For safety, course marshals are present for seven hours, after which participants transition to using sidewalks. The finish area and timing mats remain operational until mid-afternoon.
The 5k event is designed as a point-to-point course. Participants in this distance start on Shepard Avenue and finish at Clovis Community College. Specific parking requirements are in place for the 5k, with participants directed to park at Clovis West High School and walk to the start, as no shuttles are provided to the start line. However, return shuttles are available to transport finishers back to the high school parking area after the race.
Registered participants receive various amenities including chip timing, a technical shirt, a sweatshirt, and a finisher medallion. Post-race activities at the finish festival include food and a beer garden for those 21 and older. Virtual participants receive their materials via mail following the event date.
