About the race
Twisted Roots is a trail running event at High Cliff State Park in Sherwood, WI, organized by TYDISH Running. The event offers both a Marathon and a Half Marathon.
The courses include technical singletrack, wide rolling prairie sections, and views of Lake Winnebago, with climbs along the Niagara Escarpment and passage by the Lime Kiln Ruins. Some trail sections are shared with mountain bikers and horse riders; participants should yield and use proper trail etiquette. Course locations are pending final DNR approval in places.
The event base is the Gathering Space in the upper lot, with ample parking. The main aid station will be at the Gathering Space and an additional aid station will be located along the route. Aid station supplies will include water, soda, an electrolyte beverage, and running snacks. This is a cupless event; no single-use disposable cups will be provided and athletes should bring their own hydration carriers or reusable cups. Volunteers will assist with refills. A pasta buffet will be offered after each race.
Cutoff times are 8 hours for the full marathon and 5 hours for the half marathon. Entrants must be 16 years or older to register; athletes under 18 must complete an additional waiver at check in. No alcohol will be served, no disposable single-use cups will be available, and cowbells are not allowed by crew, staff, or spectators.
