Twisted Fork Trail Festival

The Twisted Fork Trail Festival takes place in Park City, Utah, utilizing the surrounding trail networks of the Wasatch Mountains. The event center is located at the Newpark Amphitheater, which serves as the finish line for all distances. Participants traverse a variety of terrain, with approximately 90% of the courses consisting of single-track trails.

The festival offers three primary race distances:

  • 68 km: A course with approximately 6,100 feet of elevation gain featuring the Flying Dog and Great Western-Mormon Pioneer loops.
  • 30 km: A loop course with roughly 2,100 feet of elevation gain following the Flying Dog route.
  • 15 km: A shorter loop with about 1,200 feet of elevation gain focused on the Glenwild trail system.

The 68 km route includes a climb to Bald Mountain, the highest point of the race, providing views of the Central Wasatch Range. It features long descents through aspen groves, sections along scenic ridgelines, and a stretch through the Mormon Flat Campground via Jeremy Ranch Road. The 30 km and 15 km routes also focus on the local trail systems, including the Blackhawk, Glenwild, and Stealth trails.

All races begin with a one-mile paved section to assist in spacing out the field before entering the trail systems. The finish area at the Newpark Amphitheater includes music and food for participants. An award ceremony is held to recognize the top three male and female finishers in the 30 km and 15 km events.
