The Frugal Frolic 5k (Lucky Leprechaun) takes place on March 14, 2026 in Woodbury, MN (9715 Valley Creek Rd, ZIP 55125). The course is a 5k loop around Colby Lake. The event does not provide t-shirts or race swag. The race is cashless and requires online registration, including for participants who register on the day of the event.

Race options and rules
There are two event options. The standard Frugal Frolic 5k is a normal 5k where the fastest finisher determines the winner. The Lucky Leprechauns edition uses predicted finish times: participants submit a 5k finish-time prediction at registration and may change that prediction until March 1 by email. No watches, phones, or timing devices are allowed during the Lucky Leprechauns race; if a participant wears a watch it must be covered, and anyone observed looking at a watch will not be counted as a finisher. The Lucky Leprechauns winner is the participant who finishes closest to their predicted time without going over. A contact form is provided for questions.
