About the race
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend is a multi-race event held over a weekend in early October 2026. The program includes youth races, community distances, timed road races, challenge series, and charity and volunteer opportunities. The course routes cross the Mississippi River, pass through two cities, and circle three urban lakes. Key race offerings include: - Family events with Diaper Dash, Toddler Trot, Half Mile, and Mile - TC 5K on State Capitol grounds - TC 10K finishing at the State Capitol - Medtronic TC 10 Mile crossing the Mississippi River - TC Half Marathon For More - Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon - TC Loony Challenge and TC Ultra Loony Challenge Several races are USATF sanctioned; the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, TC 10 Mile, and TC 10K are sanctioned and the TC 10K will serve as the 2026 USATF 10K Championships.
Registration for 2026 events opened March 3, 2026. Entry assistance programs include a Kids Run Free discount for participants under 18 at checkout and an Equity in Motion program offering 50% off a limited number of entries. Event operations include packet pick up (third party pickup allowed with an authorization form and photo ID), racer tracking via the Twin Cities in Motion app, and an Event Alert System for weather and air quality. Race policies note pace expectations for the 5K and 10K and a marathon course time limit of six hours and thirty minutes.
Strollers are permitted in 5K or shorter races with a waiver and special bib; dogs are asked to remain off course. Water vests are permitted on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
